We are disappointed to advise that in December we were informed that we were unsuccessful in our Expression of Interest to operate Levi House. We knew from the outset this was a faith journey in which we relied on God all the way and we still do.
We were advised there were many applications and while not being very specific the Department understood we would be very disappointed. We have been offered an opportunity to meet with their representatives in the New Year to debrief and we have accepted this offer. We may learn things which could help in the future if we want to apply to be the operator in 21/2 years time.
All the committee members who have worked tirelessly – are naturally very disappointed after so much work. We need to remember in times of disappointment, God Knows in advance what is best in every situation.
Please pray for the team as they recover from this disappointment.
Despite not winning the tender, we have still made a huge contribution to helping the homeless in our city and we will still have all kinds of opportunities to bless and help the people who end up living right next to and even in our church buildings.
In Conclusion – the construction of Levi House is a fantastic achievement in its own right. It is a purpose built, quality facility for the homeless, incorporating flexible accommodation for families, couples and individuals, training rooms, and environmentally friendly features.
We express out sincere thanks to the team who have worked so hard, prayed so hard, and believed so hard for this project.
We also acknowledge and give God the glory and thanks for entrusting us with this dream for our city.
