Journey To Hope Facilitator Training

Journey to Hope offers a seven session training program, which is applicable to all Journey to Hope programs.

One of the greatest opportunities for reaching our community happens when we offer support for the challenges of life.  This can be the key to opening their hearts to receiving healing, a spiritual impact and ultimately, reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ.

Both inside and outside the church people are impacted with the problems caused by dysfunctional families; addictions for many kinds; sexual abuse; the need for re-parenting; unhealthy relationships; issues relating to the malformation of personality; and the trauma of divorce, separation and aloneness.

The curriculum aims to lay a sound informational base in behavioural, emotional and spiritual aspects of recovery.  A strong component of the course is practical group work which creates an environment for the development of related skills.

Applicants need to be members in good standing in a local church, and have the support of their pastor.

Facilitator Training

This training offers insights into why people struggle and how to bring hope and help in a supportive group context.  It covers core issues in the emotional, cognitive, behavioural and spiritual domains.  The group skills include strategies for leadership, intervention and other aspects of group dynamics.  Effective small group ministry demands effective small group leaders – facilitators.  The quality of facilitators is determined by the quality of the training they receive.  This is the most important of the Journey to Hope courses.
