Superheroes is a camp held once a year for primary school aged children from families that have experienced tough circumstances. The vision of Superheroes is to give these children a weekend of fun and quality input into their lives.
The camp runs from a Friday night to a Sunday afternoon and is filled with activities designed to encourage team work, connection with others and a chance to hear about God’s special love for each one of them.
Each child is a superhero and like all famous superheroes in movies and cartoons, they don’t do it on their own. A unique aspect of this camp is that each child has a “buddy”. A buddy is a trusted person who has undergone the appropriate checks and under strict rules and guidelines, does all camp activities with the child. For every superhero child there is a buddy.
Superheroes camp would not be possible without the generous hearts and financial support of individuals and businesses, and the preparation and servant spirit of the Superheroes team and their supporters at Door of Hope.
