The Ministry Team, Staff and Elders at Door of Hope Christian Church are excited by the Premier’s announcement on Wednesday, 24 June 2020, we are now able to gather in groups of 250 indoors, and the social distancing guidelines have been reduced to 2 square metres per person, with households able to have up to 20 visitors.
We are thankful to God for the leadership of our state and their management of these difficult circumstances.
During the COVID-19 restrictions, we have been able to undertake a large part of the roof replacement project on the southern end of our building – from the Foyer through to the Hope Discovery Kids Centre. Priority has been given to completing this work as quickly as possible.
The work has been extensive and unfortunately has been interrupted by rain, therefore this part of the project is still about 8 weeks from completion. We are anticipating the building will be safe and free from construction works to enable us to meet in our main auditorium by Sunday, 6th September 2020.
When we do come back together, there will be changes necessary in order to provide a safe place for our congregation, guests and the many people who use our building. In the meantime, connect groups and courses will be starting using people’s homes in accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines.
Between now and when physical services recommence we would encourage those who would like to, to meet together on a Sunday morning in a home setting and participate in our online services. If you would like to participate in this way, the host will be required to undertake a short training session in order to meet the guidelines of Door of Hope Christian Church regarding safe meetings in homes.
More information is available through our office, please feel free to contact us if you would like to host a group for online services in your home.
Thank you for your patience, please continue to pray for the safe completion of our re-roofing project and the ongoing ministry of Door of Hope Christian Church, as we reach out to our community with our services every Sunday.
Yours in Christ,
Chairman of Elders
